Feels strange that Christmas is next month, since it's still so warm outside. But, whether I believe it or not, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Usually we've been over to Husband's Mum for Thanksgiving dinner, but we're obviously spending it here in the US this year.
I started thinking about ideas for the table setting with using only stuff we already have, and took a minimalistic approach.
(Realized a bit later, that these would work perfect for a bridal shower or a wedding, too! With the text "Advice for the bride" etc.)
Anyway, here's how to make them:
I made a Word document where I put a few lines on the upper side (leaving room for stamping), centered, but you can just use a ruler instead if you don't have a printer. Print out/make as many as you need and stamp them individually, or print out one, stamp and then just make copies.
I used alphabet stamps I got at Hobby Lobby.
Fold about 3/5 of the paper under and back.

Fold back the sides of the paper, then just place a napkin and the utensils inside. And you're done!
I'm considering using 12x12 crafts papers as placemats, but I'm not sure I want to ruin them....

Simple, quick & cheap!
Husband just had a great idea: why won't you guys link photos of how yours turned out when filled out at THE day? :)
These are adorable!

ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Wouldn't this be fun to do for a birthday party as well? And fill in with things you love about the birthday boy/girl?
ReplyDeleteYeah, would be so cute :)
DeleteOr for a wedding! <3
DeleteThis is so awesome I'm taking it to a Thanksgiving Camp! Now to figure out how to display completed ones...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, if nothing else works out, you can send photos of the finished one's (in a reasonable size :S under 300kb?) and I can attach them to the post :)
DeleteI'm totally doing this! I'm making these and bringing them home for the holidays :) I'm so glad I found this link on Pinterest!

P.S. Please turn off the word verification function. It makes it challenging to comment. Plus, Blogger has an excellent Spam filter. Trust me. I recently moved to Wordpress and am shocked at all the spam that tries to sneak through ... had no idea when I was blogging on Blogger!
Oh, I didn't know it uses the word verification, thought it just send me an moderation e-mail :) will do!
DeleteFound you via Curbly. Love this-- definitely will have to keep in mind for my next get-together!
